I boil my potatoes with a garlic clove and salt. Then mash them with butter, whole milk, sour cream,a good dash of parsley/garlic powder mix, and black pepper.
I also make "Garlic red mashed potatoes" I boil red potatoes with most of the peel on, only removing a few blemishes. Boiling the potatoes with a glove of garlic and sea salt. I mash them with cream cheese, a cup of milk and pepper. Then place them in a baking dish, sprinkle with garlic salt and crumbled butter. Top with parmesan cheese and broil for a few minutes. They are way good. Oh and don't over mix the potatoes. They shouldn't be "smooth" but have cream texture with pieces of potatoes.
When you post a new recipe I think it would be helpful if we used labels. At the bottom of the post there is the label option. This would make it so we could come and find a Chicken recipe more easily for example.

Which do you prefer?
I like . . . well with Salmon the red mashed potatoes. but with beef and chicken the regular ones.
